Exercising when Pregnant – what to do…

One of the questions I get asked all the time is

“can I take IsoWhey while pregnant?”

The answer (unlike nearly ALL our competitors) is Yes! But this got me thinking about the number of people who are pregnant for the first time and have sooo many questions about…well, everything! – including Fitness. There is a lot of media attention these days on how JLo, Posh & Miranda get back their pre-pregnancy bodies in such a short time – and this places tremendous pressure on young mums to do the same, except without all the trappings of personal chefs and PT’s (although don’t forget with IsoWhey you do get myself and Janine as yours!).

As with a lot of things FItness, there are a lot of myths out there press here to read on…

Are YOU an office zombie?!…

This week I have a blog with a difference – it’s by a “guest blogger”!. “Coffee truck’s here!” – The call goes out. Coffee truck’s here is an alarm bell for the brain. Early mornings you are still on auto pilot and the coffee truck pull is strong! I see a whole lot of my colleagues heading for the door to head down to the coffee truck…… Like zombies. follow on press here…

Deskercise – Is work bad for your health??

Well, to a large proportion of the population, the answer is YES!

Millions of our countrys workforce spend AT LEAST 8 hours a day sat in front of the computer, five days a week, often not taking real breaks…even for lunch, and then when they get home what do they do  – yes – turn on their laptops or smart phones, log on and spend yet MORE time staring at an even SMALLER screen! And what happens when this sort of activity goes on for months and years at a time??? read more..press here…

After you have RUN… do you RECOVER properly??

As I mentioned in my last blog, running (or jogging) can be a great addition to your fitness regime, whether your goal is to lose some extra kilos or to improve your general level of fitness.  Now running isn’t for everyone and you do need a good base level of fitness before embarking on a heavy running routine – don’t forget there are different levels, you don’t have to run a marathon – you may just want to jog around the park a couple of times a week, do whatever you feel you need to do. You can get great results in all different areas, but if you train hard did you realise you need to RECOVER harder?! press on press here…

Run, Baby Run…& lose those kilo’s..

This weekend sees another running event in Sydney – the 9km Bridge Run, following many beautiful sights around the City and its harbour. Running is big in Australia – each city has its own marathon event, plus many smaller ‘fun runs’ like Melbourne’s City2Sea, the City2Surf in Sydney again, and the Bridge to Brisbane. One reason for it’s popularity must be read on, press here…

Milk – drink, restrict or abstain?…

WOW, the milk debate is pretty huge and once you start doing your own research it seems to get more and more complicated!  Have you noticed how there are more & more ‘new’ variances of milk available today ? – I guess this is a consequence of a growing and more demanding consumer market and of course greater technology to enable us to produce these specialised options.

However it can be very confusing when popping down to your local supermarket!

Some of the options available:-

Whole milk – good range of nutrients, but tastes too ‘creamy’ for me!

Skim or semi skimmed milk – low fat, but tastes like water!

Low lactose or lactose free – good if you’re intolerant

Half fat (Lite white) – choose this if you’re calorie conscious!

Modified, may be protein enriched, high in calcium/iron, good for specific dietary requirements (eg A2, Farmers Best,Casein free)

Long Life (ultra heat treated) not the best, it will last, but enzymes are killed and it tastes terrible! drink up – press here…

Ab-Attack – How to get the Waist you Want!

NOW THAT’S GOT YOUR ATTENTION , HASN’T IT?!!

It’s the first day of Spring and so Summer is just around the corner. This means stripping off and heading to the beach – right? Well…wrong , for a lot of people out there…who don’t feel confident enough to show their bodies at all (although there are always some that do!). And what’s the area that people are most concerned about?…. their stomachs. Get ripped, Press here!…
